I have been a massive fan of AI tools since ChatGPT launched in 2023. Here are some of my favourites. This is not an exhaustive list, just some of the tools I have tried and use.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT is a very useful tool. I just use the free version but I access GPT4 via a client that uses the API.
Here’s some good clients:
- LinkyGPT – This is free and really good and is currently my go to ChatGPT client
- ChatbotUI – Another good free chatGPT client
- https://niek.github.io/chatgpt-web/#/chat/1 – another one
You have to pay $20/month to use a lot of the advanced features of ChatGPT now.
Microsoft Copilot
Copilot is powered by ChatGPT and is free.
Google Gemini
Google’s Gemini is another very useful tool and is quickly catching up to ChatGPT. I find Gemini’s written text to be excellent but the image generation is not great yet. Gemini is mostly free but there is a paid version that offers advanced features.
FreedomGPT
FreedomGPT is a uncensored and private version of ChatGPT. I have found it to be pretty good. It has many different models including MusicGPT that can compose songs and phoneGPT that I used to prank call my Dad.
Lexica
Lexica is excellent at generating images that look awesome.
Pixlr
I was so impressed with Pixlr’s image generation capability that I bought a yearly subscription for the reasonable price of $12/year. I use it to generate images for blog posts on this site and others.
