New Board
I caught the shopping bus into Kelowna (closest city) today to do a bit of grocery shopping. It was good to get off the hill for a day and do some "normal" everyday sort of things. There is a small supermarket up on the hill but the selection is fairly limited and the pricing exuberant. The phrase "daylight robbery" comes to mind.
So all the staff up here catch the shopping bus into Kelowna once in a while armed with their backpacks and various other bags to carry all the stuff back. It's a bit of a mission. Not something I want to do ever again.
Anyway I was walking around the mall in Kelowna which is the size of an international airport and I ended up buying another snowboard. There was a massive sale so I got it heaps cheap. It's a Kempar 155cm freestyle board, heaps flexible which makes doing jumps/tricks much easier. My other board is a 162cm freeride board which is great for carving and powder days. So now I have the best of both worlds .... bring it on! Took the new board out for a test drive, it's a different cup of tea to my other board and I snapped myself a few times but once I got used to it, it's awesome! |
